Friday Faves: Yes, Deer

Hubby and I have been going through major winter cabin fever.  Every weekend lately, it’s been either snowing or raining.  We miss getting our hiking on and are ready to see some wildlife actually in the wild ( the diaorama at the local Cabellas doesn’t count ).  There’s just something so magical about coming across creatures in the woods.   Are you experiencing the itch to get outdoors and do some animal watching?  Maybe these will help..

I lived in Colorado for years in a very rural area. We had herds of elk migrating through and deer that would graze through our tiny town. It was always a treat to see them.

I’m originally from Jacksonville, FL, where deer sightings are pretty rare, but now living in the Northwest and still feel a thrill every time I see them. And elk are even more thrilling! We were hiking in the Hoh Rainforest in WA last summer and were lucky enough to see a few mother elk with their babies– amazing! We’re currently in Northern Idaho and my hubby is determined to see a moose in the wild before we leave. 😉

How wonderful. I love seeing wild animals. There is something so amazing about other species when they are not domesticated. I could have been a zoologist if I hadn’t such a passion for art.

I hope you see a moose! I have only seen one a long time ago and it was barely visible.

If you take photos will you add them to your blog?

If we see a moose, I’ll definitely share! 🙂
