Art to Inspiration is back!  The time for this collaborative blogging project is here once again and this month’s inspiration is being provided by artist Laura E. Pritchett.  I have always loved the possibility inherent in the disappearing path.. One of the artists showing in our City Mouse | Country Mouse exhibition in found galleryDeann Hebert, also has a love for roads that lie before us.  So for my Art to Inspiration, I’ve put together a little gallery of Deann’s own paths taken.

Wow, it seems like a long time has passed since I participated in Art to Inspiration, a monthly collaborative blog project, how I’ve missed it! Mr. Forager and I are still in the land of sand and sun, but our time here is finally growing short. This month’s inspiration, In the Mist by Charlen Williamson, has me longing to return to the cool grey of the Pacific Northwest. So it’s only fitting that Williamson’s image inspired me to put together a gallery of black & white photographs Mr. Forager & I have taken from our favorite places in the Northwest. 50 Shades of the Pac NW, if you will.. 😉

I’ve been out to lunch Art to Inspiration-wise lately.  I love this collaborative exercise, but alas, there just wasn’t time for it last month with our moving 1300 miles south and all.  But this month’s inspiration piece is so lovely, I couldn’t resist!  The inspiration artwork for November, The Other Side by painter Linda Monfort, is full of the vibrant color I’m longing for after my first few weeks of living in the desert.

The Other Side by Linda Monfort

I’ve put together a gallery of work of varied styles that tie in beautifully with the palette, texture, and energy of Monfort’s piece.  I give you, Color Riot!  Hope you enjoy!

Last month, I was an Art to Inspiration delinquent.  The monthly post just had to fall off my huge to-do list before we went on our big camping trip.  But this month, I’m back with a vengeance!  Our inspiration artwork for September, Blue Moon by photographer Lani Trock, is the perfect inspiration for the transition into the autumnal months.

    Hello Moon by Lani Trock

As is my usual motis operandi, I’ve put together a little  gallery inspired by this month’s work.  Trock’s photo brings to mind camping and playing under the stars during an Indian summer, so I’m calling this little collection Night Moves.  Check it out below!

  • Art to Inspiration: Jill Ricci

    Art to Inspiration: Jill Ricci

I’ve been having so much fun with the Art to Inspiration project!  The first month I participated, the inspiration work was by Pakayla Biehn, an artist whose work I’d already fallen in love with when I featured her on Artsy Forager a while back.  The next month gave me an opportunity to fall head over heads for Jo Howe’s organically inspired work.  So I was thrilled when my suggested artist, Jill Ricci was chosen as the inspiration for June!

Jill is one of those artists whose work I never tire of and I hope you don’t either, because I have a tendency to want to feature her work every chance I get!  One of my favorite elements running through Jill’s work is the urban, graffiti-like graphics.  So for this Art to Inspiration, I’ve put together a Ricci-inspired gallery of street art!

    The inspiration-

Float by Jill Ricci, mixed media on canvas, 40×40

    The gallery-

Artist unknown, ( via Street Art Utopia )
By Speto, Sao Paulo, Brazil ( via Wooster Collective )
Obey by Shepard Fairey ( via My Modern Metropolis )

Be sure to click the photos above for more of each artist’s work and to see more inspiring street art.  You can also check out Artsy Forager’s Artsy On the Streets Pinterest board to keep up with all the street art I’m finding!

  • Art to Inspiration: Jo Howe

    Art to Inspiration: Jo Howe

Wow.  Has another month really gone by already?  It’s Art to Inspiration time again!  This month’s inspiration, Echoes of Fragrant Voices by Jo Howe inspires me on so many levels.  Her sculptures, created from book pages ( love level one- check! ) are full of beautiful shapes ( two- check! ), soft color ( three- check! ), rhythm ( four- check! ) and gorgeous texture ( that makes five- check! ).  Just as with Pakayla Biehn’s work last month, Jo’s work inspired me to create a gallery of varied complementary works, each of which shares characteristics reminiscent of Jo’s work.

    Art to Inspiration: Pakayla Biehn

This blogging world is chock full of creative and inspiring people.  I am so excited to participate in the collaborative blogging project, Art to Inspiration!  Art to Inspiration is a monthly collaborative blogging project in which bloggers around the world post how the same piece of artwork has inspired them on the first Wednesday of every month.  So let’s get started!

I was pumped when I saw the artwork inspiration for April, 2 Years, 264 Days and This Morning by Pakayla Biehn, an artist whose work I love and recently featured!

2 Years, 264 Days and This Morning, oil on canvas, 26×18

In my gallery days, one of my absolute favorite tasks was to help curate, design and plan how the work was hung in the gallery.  Laying work out, figuring out how pieces relate and the best way for them to work together visually.  So for my first Art to Inspiration, it felt natural to curate my own gallery of work inspired by Biehn’s piece.
