May-days Are Here! And a New Featured Artist!

May always feels like the month when we truly transition out of winter and into the glory of the warmer months!  Mr. Forager and I are now in Seattle, though, so I’m not sure how warm we’ll be this May. 😉  But we have the work of this month’s Featured Artist, Pamela Viola to keep us glowing!

Friday Faves: With Tangerine Trees and Marmalade Skies

Each year, Pantone announces its “Color of the Year”.  The color authority combs the world looking for influential color and its Color of the Year proclamation affects design decisions in fashion, interiors, products, packaging, you name it.  This year’s color is a bold and vibrant reddish-orange, Tangerine Tango.  Artists, always ahead of the curve, have been embracing orange for quite some time.  I know it’s always been one of my own favorite hues.  Take a peek at some of these lovely examples of tangerine dreams!

    Friday Forager Faves: Shutterbugs

Please enjoy this oldie by goodie while I spend the next two weeks camping, packing, visiting with the mom-in-law and moving from WA to OR. See you in September!

I can’t believe it is the end of another week already.  The time is quickly flying by as George and I prepare to make our way to the West Coast.  I plan to take LOTS of photos both on our trip and once we have arrived.  But alas, I am merely the point & shoot type.  Oh, I try to compose a nice shot or get all artsy with the angles and such, but I have a long way to go.

I took a few photography classes in high school and college and well, let’s just say I never did quite get the hang of it.  I am mechanically challenged to say the least.   I have such respect for fine art photographers, because I know how difficult getting that perfect shot can be.  So today’s faves feature some of my favorite photogs!
