Art News

Attention Artsy Forager Facebook Followers!

As they always seem to be in the habit of doing, Facebook pages recently changed! If you’re a fan and don’t want to miss any news, go to the Artsy Forager page and hover over the “Liked” button and select “Show In My Newsfeed”. Otherwise, you may not receive updates in your feed from Artsy Forager.  Sorry for the extra step, but I don’t want you to miss out on any of the inspiring artsy stuff being posted on Facebook!

PS– If you aren’t following Artsy Forager on Facebook, please join in the fun!  Lots of artsy goodies are posted over on Facebook between the features here on the blog.

The only answer I can give is that they are trying to make more money from the pages, which I think is fine for larger corporations utilizing pages, but is a huge hinderance to the artist, musician, blogger or small business owner trying to use their page to market & grown their business. You are still reaching people– FB will show you the percentage of fans reached by each post at the bottom of the post on your page’s feed ( visible only to you as admin ). The percentage goes up as your post gets more views/likes, etc. For instance, I posted something today whose % has been rising as more people have liked & shared it. The pages are still useful tools, but perhaps not to be relied on as free marketing as much as in the past. 🙁
