Henry David Thoreau said, “This world is but a canvas to our imagination.” Street artists take that idea quite literally, by taking art out of the isolating artistic environments of galleries and museums, bringing the art to a public that might not otherwise be exposed to it. Glad you stopped by, Desiree! I think what I love most about street art is the element of surprise. Every time I happen upon it in an unexpected place, I can’t help but smile and appreciate the artist’s desire to elevate what could be a neglected, desolate environment with art.
